A little bit of history

Why the hyphen? Well, the name initially meant Microcomputer Software or Micro-soft. This is how Bill Gates referred to the company. By then Microsoft was not actually a company but an idea. Microsoft was legally registered in 1976 and that’s when the hyphen was lost.
